We’ve been quiet in 2019, as other commitments have pulled us elsewhere.
It has always been our hope to keep the interviews, album reviews, playlists and gig guide going throughout it all but it is time for Second Hand News as a media site to have a pause.
We are working on multiple national tours for artists from USA, Canada, Australia and Scotland later this year and early 2020. We’ve just worked with Albi & The Wolves to release their new album through Second Hand Records.
Right now, the media aspect of Second Hand News is going on hiatus. We will continue to work on the Touring and Records aspects of this folk world, but our time interviewing, reviewing and posting updates has come to an end (for now).
Having said that, if you think you could take on the written content please be in touch! Are you someone fresh and excited about the folk world and would like to come on board and write reviews, do interviews and go to shows? We have connections with every venue and most promoters of folk music in Auckland (and around the country), which offers someone the opportunity to get to as many gigs as they would like, and to interview whoever they would like.
Finn: “I’d love to work with someone to continue and grow our written content, as I can see huge things for Second Hand News if someone has the energy to put into it. Right now, I can’t.”
Much love,
Finn McLennan-Elliott and the rest of the dedicated Second Hand News family.
