“Home” is the debut single from Auckland based folk group Fables, out TODAY! Available for download on bandcamp here or to listen below:
The first single from West Auckland Singer/Songwriter Jess Bailey (aka Fables ) HOME is a song that speaks to one of the most traditional
themes in folk music in a modern way, a haunting lilt that strums the heartstrings of anyone who has ever missed someone and yearned for them to be where they belong.
At only 19 years old, Jess has already spent years performing and has shared the stage with modern folk notables Great North, The Remarkables, Chris Preistley and Nadia Reid, with performances at the home of Auckland folk, The Bunker.
Recorded at Stebbing Recording Studios in Herne Bay with Steve McGough, “Home” is the first offering from Fables. Written by Jess when she was 15, the song has been worke and tumbled and re-worked ever since, featuring Laurence Diack on Cello and BVs and Sam Loveridge on guitar, fiddle and BVs.
Fables are performing tonight (25th September) at LOT23 at 23 Minnie Street. Doors open at 6pm and there is dinner and some lovely drinks to purchase so come along after work. Music kicks off at 7.30pm with Amy Grace and Reb Fountain opening the show!
